It includes the areas of Browns Point, Dash Point, and Northeast Tacoma

EDUCATION

One of our major mission objectives is to "Educate children and adults to appreciate our local history. We do this by hosting school field trips and adult group tours; having a weekly 1-4pm (May through September) open house tours of the lightstation facilities including the Cottage and Museum, Bell House and Boat House; making resources available at the Research Center including a lending library;  sponsoring lectures and book discussion and providing speakers for other group.

School Tours

Public schools, private schools and home schools are welcome to visit the Browns Point Light Station. Docents lead tours through our many historic buildings and historical exhibits and allow hands on experiences. Our student handout materials are based on 4th grade social studies curriculum. All tours must be made by appointment. For larger classes we suggest fall and spring tour dates, due to the weather. For more information, leave a message at: 253-927-2536

Group Tours

We welcome local Scout groups, service clubs, senior citizens, and others to visit. Docents lead tours through our many historic buildings and allow hands on experiences. All tours must be made by appointment.
